About Teermo
Welcome to Teermo — a personal finance and small-living blog built for real people navigating real money problems in 2026.
Why Teermo Exists
Rent is up. Wages aren’t keeping pace. The old “30% rule” doesn’t fit a $1,800 one-bedroom. And most personal finance advice still sounds like it was written in 2005 by someone who’s never paid Columbus utilities or tried to furnish an Austin studio under 500 square feet.
Teermo was created to fix that gap.
We write practical, no-fluff guides about:
- Budgeting that actually works when rent eats 40% of your paycheck
- Saving money without giving up the things that make life worth living
- Side hustles that bring in real income, not just hype
- Small living — making tiny apartments feel like home
- Financial tools that genuinely help you stay organized
Who We Write For
If you’re a renter, a young professional, a remote worker, or anyone living in a high-cost U.S. city and wondering where your paycheck went — this site is for you.
We focus heavily on city-specific guides (Austin, Columbus, and growing) because national averages are useless when you’re paying local rent.
Our Promise
Every article on Teermo is:
- Written by a real person, not spun by software
- Grounded in real numbers — actual rents, actual costs, actual math
- Updated for 2026 — old advice doesn’t survive 2026 inflation
- Honest about trade-offs — no “skip lattes and you’ll be rich” nonsense
We don’t pretend money is simple. We just try to make it less scary.
